IDC Launches Clean Energy Tracker Programs
In the US, research and consulting firm IDC Energy Insights has launched three new global research programs, focused on quantifying and tracking the Smart Meter, Photovoltaic Module and Solar Inverter markets.
The company, a subsidiary of technology, media, research, and events company IDG, covers both the utility and oil and gas segments, providing independent analysis focused on key business and technology issues.
To support its new programs, IDC Energy Insights is hiring a total of five new analysts - two in the US, one in Europe, and two in Asia/Pacific - as part of a team led by Ryan Reith (pictured), who manages the firm's Worldwide Tracker team.
IDC Trackers provide market data to assist with market analyses and the study of historical trends. The new 'Worldwide Quarterly Photovoltaic Module Tracker', 'Worldwide Quarterly Smart Meter Tracker', and 'Worldwide Quarterly Solar Inverter Tracker' will provide total market size and vendor share by various market segmentations.
'Although IDC Energy Insights has been covering these markets from a qual perspective for the past five years, we're now expanding our coverage into the quant arena using IDC's proven Tracker methodology,' explains VP of Research, Rick Nicholson. 'This initiative will provide additional value to any organization that needs worldwide quarterly updates on these smart grid and clean energy technologies.'
