HIMSS Names VP, Market Research
In the US, healthcare information specialist HIMSS Analytics has appointed Marc Holland as Vice President, Market Research, a role encompassing product management and management of data collection and quality.
Not-for-profit HIMSS collects and analyzes healthcare information including trends, IS department composition, costs and metrics, and purchasing decisions.
Holland joins with more than 35 years' industry analysis experience gained across the healthcare, banking and government sectors. Most recently, he served as President of healthcare market research specialist Systems Research Services. Before this, he held senior management positions with several healthcare and technology market research consulting firms such as IDC-owned Health Industry Insights and First Consulting Group. He also spent 14 years at Montefiore Medical Center in a variety of information systems and operations analysis management positions.
In his new role, Holland will be responsible for providing strategic direction for the Organizational Services unit, and managing collection and reporting of data for the HIMSS Analytics Database. He will also prepare and present industry trends analysis to the organization's executive management teams and clients.
John Hoyt, the firm's VP Organizational Services, to whom he will report, says Holland 'understands the challenges faced in today's healthcare environment as we strive to transform healthcare with information technology.'
