Nielsen Human Resources Chief Quits

Nielsen's Chief Human Resources Officer Roberto (Bob) Llamas is to leave the firm at the end of the first quarter 2011. The firm plans to name a successor during the transition period.

A company spokesperson told DRNO: 'We don't comment on executive personnel, and Bob will announce his future plans when he's ready'.

Llamas, who was appointed to this role in June 2007, is in charge of human resources strategy across more than 100 countries.

Prior to joining, he worked as Chief Administrative Officer of healthcare specialist The Cleveland Clinic, where he was responsible for increasing satisfaction scores for both patients and employees. Before this, he served as HR MD at Lehman Brothers, and as the first HR leader for GE Capital's group of five consumer businesses. He began his HR career with Southern California Edison.

Llamas is credited with having played a leadership role in globalizing Nielsen's workforce and introducing a 'contemporary leadership' development process across the company. According to a statement, Llamas is leaving to 'take the next step in his professional and personal life'.

'Bob has achieved the objectives I set for him when he joined the company,' states Nielsen CEO David Calhoun. 'We wish him well in his future endeavors.'
