Richardson Takes MD Role at Ipsos Asia Pacific
Ipsos has appointed David Richardson as Managing Director of Asia Pacific, to help lead businesses across the India, Southeast Asia, Australia, Japan, Korea and Greater China regions.
Ipsos now has more than 1000 full-time professional staff located in 18 offices around Asia Pacific, where it is implementing a strategy of geographic management focusing on sector specialisations. Richardson will work with Lifeng Liu, who was last week promoted to the position of CEO of Asia Pacific after more than a decade with the firm.
Richardson - who has 25 years' marketing research experience in Asia Pacific - joined Ipsos in 2009 as CEO of Ipsos in North East Asia. Before this, he served as Regional Director of North Asia - Greater China for TNS.
In his new role reporting to Liu, Richardson will focus on co-driving strategies and plans, as well as the day-to-day operations management of all the countries in the region. Each area will now be treated as its own sub-region, with employees there working directly with Liu and Richardson.
South East Asia will be led by Rodrigo Toni, who was previously CEO of Ipsos in AAI (Australia, the ASEAN countries and India.) and has now been promoted to CEO of Ipsos in South East Asia and Managing Director of Singapore.
Ipsos Australia will be led by Hugh Amoyal, who during the past two years working as CEO, has been instrumental in integrating the different Ipsos businesses. A new CEO for India will be announced shortly.
