British and French Physician Communities Link

A strategic alliance has been announced between UK-based medical professionals' network doctors.net.uk, and Global Média Santé, owner of Egora, a similar community comprising physicians and other health professionals in France.

The firms say their partnership will enhance their ability to research the behaviour of physicians and related healthcare professionals.

Doctors.net.uk has a membership comprising more than 180,000 registered UK physicians, with more than 50,000 using the service each week.

Egora, which is the online division of the weekly medical magazine Panorama du Médecin, is open to physicians, related health professionals, nurses, technicians, pharmacists and health administrators, and has more than 100,000 members.

'Establishing this commercial relationship with Global Média Santé represents a significant milestone in our plan to build a network of online physician communities across key European markets and beyond,' explains Doctors.net.uk CEO, Richard Adams.

Egora MD and CEO Alain Trébucq says the alliance will provide new solutions to European divisions of international pharma firms.

The partnership follows Doctors.net.uk's recent alliances with online healthcare marketing firm Medcenter Holdings in Latin/Central America and Iberia, and MedUniverse in Sweden.
