Washington Post Launches Facebook Consultancy
US news group The Washington Post has launched SocialCode - a full-service ad agency which uses proprietary tools and a quantitative approach to help brands grow and engage their Facebook fans.
SocialCode is managed by Laura Graham O'Shaughnessy, daughter of The Washington Post's CEO Donald Graham who has also been an advisor to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg since 2008.
SocialCode's team conducts research including ad and message testing and competitive analysis, to help companies build their Facebook presence. It will also offer page management, app development, social commerce, fan monetization and advertising through Facebook's Ads API.
The new agency's performance advertising technology and quant, results-driven philosophy were initially developed for internal use by The Washington Post Company, which will now offer these capabilities to a broader marketplace.
'SocialCode allows companies to capitalize on Facebook's offerings,' states Graham O'Shaughnessy. 'We know the technology and we know what works, so we can design campaigns that enable brands to make the most of their advertising and marketing dollars on Facebook.'
