GfK Adds Cell Phone Sampling to Omnibus
In the US, GfK has added cell phone sampling to its Super OmniTel telephone omnibus.
According to Bruce Barr, VP of GfK's Omnibus Services, nearly one half of American consumers under the age of 50 are now 'cell-phone dominant'.
By adding a cell phone component into the sample, Barr says the firm's new service will enable users to connect with this 'hard-to-reach' segment, which includes a portion of the population whose opinions and attitudes are often missed.
Each quarterly wave of the Super OmniTel will now include 200 people called and interviewed by cell phone out of every 1,000 interviewed. GfK says each wave provides access to around 150 adults aged 18-34, half of which are cell phone-only or cell phone-dominant users.
'Super OmniTel allows you to connect with cell phone-dominant and cell phone-only users and their households quickly and affordably, so you can be sure you have a complete picture of your entire market,' says Barr in conclusion.
