Patient Experience Benchmarking Study Launched
In the US, healthcare evaluation body The Beryl Institute has partnered with agency Catalyst Healthcare Research to gather information on what US-based hospitals are doing to improve the patient experience.
Nashville, TN-headquartered Catalyst Healthcare specializes in understanding and measuring the customer experience to support the marketing needs of healthcare service providers. It was launched in 2008 by parent company Prince Market Research (PMR).
The study will determine the individuals responsible for leading patient experience initiatives, the approaches hospitals take to improve patient experience and how their efforts are being measured. It will also poll healthcare leaders to understand the steps they are taking in this area, and more generally the challenges and opportunities they face.
Jason Wolf, Executive Director for The Beryl Institute, comments: 'This study will provide a clear picture of the state of patient experience efforts today and an excellent baseline for measuring future change and performance improvements. Hospitals continue to look for answers on how to address this critical priority and this research will offer a platform for an even broader perspective and collective improvement.'
Initial results will be announced next month.
