William Hill Takes a Punt on Lowden
David Lowden, who stepped down as CEO of TNS at the end of 2008, has been appointed as a non-executive director of William Hill Plc from the first of April this year.
Lowden left TNS following the completion of WPP's takeover of the business. Prior to his role as CEO, Lowden had served as both COO and Group Finance Director. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant, he also worked in senior financial positions at companies including A.C. Nielsen and Federal Express.
At William Hill, he replaces David Allvey who has been a non-executive director since 2002 and is retiring from the Board shortly after the Annual General Meeting planned for 12th May 2011. Lowden will take on his role within the online and high street bookmaker as Chairman of the Audit and Risk Management Committee.
