IBM Releases Coremetrics/Unica Social Media Tools
Following IBM's acquisition of web analytics firms Coremetrics and Unica last year, the technology giant has launched a suite of real-time social media analysis tools.
The first product, 'IBM Coremetrics Social', helps companies across a wide range of industries analyze the business impact of their social marketing initiatives, via publicly available data from social media web sites.
Using the analytics foundation of the Coremetrics Continuous Optimization Platform and its complete suite of marketing optimization applications, the tool also provides cross-channel reporting and benchmark capabilities to track and improve social marketing campaigns.
Meanwhile, the new and elegantly-named 'IBM Unica Pivotal Veracity Email Optimization' suite analyzes email links that are associated with a brand and shared across social network platforms.
'IBM's approach to social media analytics is based on the understanding that people interact with an organization's brand in a number of ways - including email, social networking sites and company web sites,' explains John Squire, Chief Strategy Officer, IBM Coremetrics. 'The new software unveiled today will help marketers develop more targeted, highly-measurable, and effective social media marketing campaigns.'
IBM recently announced a new consulting practice dedicated to 'Smarter Commerce', which provides software that enables companies to monitor their brand's presence in real-time through social media channels.
