Opentracker Launches High-Traffic Web Tool
In the Netherlands, web analytics firm Opentracker has released a real-time cloud-based analytics solution which it says can measure and analyze millions of visitors and page views each minute.
Launched in 2003 and based in Amsterdam, the firm provides web site stats and visitor tracking services, with specialisms including search term analysis and live clickstream reporting.
Its new tool is based on technology originally developed by Facebook, and now managed by Apache, which utilizes cloud-processing models used by Twitter, Google, and Amazon for high-traffic web site audience measurement.
CEO Eddie Moojen says that demand for the technique has resulted from current analytics providers only supporting high traffic with data sampling and minimum 24-hour delays, which he claims limits its usefulness for real-time decision-making.
'Content and advertising managers can benefit greatly from this development, as they can serve content and manage campaigns based on emerging traffic patterns,' he adds.
