KANA Buys Social Listening Firm Overtone
In the US, experience management technology provider KANA Software has acquired social media listening specialist Overtone. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Overtone's platform enables companies to automate the reading and analysis of text and information from various customer interactions in channels such as text messages, online chat, and e-mail. The solution also generates reports across these channels.
Overtone will retain its brand, and the firm's President and CEO Craig Brennan (pictured) and all staff will be retained.
KANA's VP of Product Marketing, Vikas Nehru, says that the deal will allow Kana clients to understand and analyze customer sentiment, emerging issues and trends across social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
Brennan adds: 'Overtone delivers the ability to truly listen to customer concerns and react to their needs. The combination of KANA and Overtone will undeniably create the market's best solution for actionable social and customer insights.'
