Altus Buys Real Estate Analytics Firm

US real estate consulting firm Altus Group has acquired Realm Solutions for $130m, and will now offer commercial real estate data analytics to its clients.

Realm's suite of software is used for the analysis, management and forecasting of commercial real estate investments, while its INSIGHT tool merges business intelligence into executive dashboards. As part of the deal the suite has been re-named ARGUS Software.

Altus will combine ARGUS with its own proprietary data to create a new platform which will offer clients commercial real estate data and analytics, including benchmarking, indices and risk analysis.

'With this acquisition Altus will be in a position to deliver a valuable suite of products and services to the commercial real estate sector, offering a breadth of insight, understanding and analytics unique in today's marketplace,' states Altus CEO, Gary Yeoman (pictured). 'The transaction is expected to accelerate the evolution of Altus' valued investments in technology and the accumulation of proprietary industry data into a resilient and dynamic growth platform.'

Mark Kingston, President and CEO of Realm, says the combination will enable the firms to offer 'world class' data, analytics and market intelligence.
