SSI Hires former Research Now MD for Aus
In Australia, Survey Sampling International (SSI) has appointed former Research Now MD Jason Buchanan as Managing Director of its Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. He replaces Rene Bos who has decided to return to Europe.
Founded in 1977, SSI has 17 offices in 15 countries and offers 28 global panels including online communities in Australia and New Zealand. Last summer, the firm relocated its Sydney offices to accommodate its expanding service team.
Prior to joining, Buchanan founded GPS Interactive, a start-up business that uses GPS technology to monitor and measure the behaviour and performance of people and their vehicles. Following his new appointment, SSI has become a re-seller of the firm's products and services in Australia.
Prior to setting up GPS Interactive, Buchanan was MD Asia-Pacific at Research Now, launching the firm's office in the country after moving from London. He earlier spent a decade in business development roles across the ad, software and IT sectors.
In his new role, Buchanan will focus on strengthening SSI's position in the Asian and Oceanic markets, while driving its online and offline market research services.
'With his entrepreneurial spirit, customer focus, research expertise and track record of growing successful businesses in APAC, Jason is the ideal candidate to lead SSI in Asia,' says CEO Kees de Jong. 'He brings a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities our customers face in APAC - and a powerful commitment to partnering with them to achieve their research goals across the region.'
Bos joined SSI last year as MD, Asia Pacific after working in senior research roles at Travel & Tourism Strategies, EcoFocus Worldwide, Nielsen and TNS. An SSI spokesperson told DRNO Bos was returning to Europe and that his future plans are not known.
