YouTube Founders Buy Social Media Analyst
YouTube Founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen are to acquire social media analytics firm Tap11 for an undisclosed sum. Tap11 will augment another recently announced acquisition, social bookmarking service Delicious, as part of the pair's new company, Avos.
Tap11, described recently as 'the Omniture of the real-time web', integrates social media publishing and analytics into a single dashboard to help marketers maximize social media marketing ROI.
Tap11 CEO Adam Zbar and CTO Braxton Woodham will join AVOS as Head of Business Operations & Strategy and Head of Engineering respectively.
Urley said in a statement: 'Our vision is to create the world's best platform for uses to save, share, and discover new content. With the acquisition of Tap11, we will be able to provide consumer and enterprise users with powerful tools to publish and analyze their links' impact in real-time.'
Zbar comments: 'We're excited to join Chad and Steve to take Tap11 to the next level. With over 1 billion users on the social web and no good tools to systematically archive and analyze this data, there is a massive loss of marketing intelligence.'
AVOS is located in San Mateo, California and is online at www.avos.com .
