Capgemini Expands Business Info Arm with BICG Buy
Global tech consulting and outsourcing giant Capgemini has acquired the US-based business intelligence firm BI Consulting Group (BICG). Terms of the cash deal were not disclosed.
Minneapolis-headquartered BICG offers consultancy for customers who purchase Oracle Business Intelligence and Enterprise Performance Management products.
Capgemini says the transaction, which follows its acquisition of Avantias in France, will reinforce its business information management (BIM) positioning in North America, improving its ability to help clients gain insight from huge volumes of disparate data stored across business applications.
As part of the deal, BICG founder Amy Mayer will join Capgemini US as Vice President for the BIM global service line.
Capgemini CEO Lanny Cohen (pictured) comments: 'Capgemini recognizes that an investment in the leading-edge business analytic tools that BICG supports, will help clients gain real business value through a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of their business trends and performance'.
