Outsourcing Partnership to Focus on China

US-based outsourcing advisory specialist TPI has formed a partnership with Chinese outsourcing researcher Devott, to develop a program to give buyers more confidence in outsourcing in China.

Michael Rehkopf and Haitao QiTPI, which is owned by Information Services Group (ISG), helps clients plan and assess their outsourcing strategies; while Devott focuses on the offshore service outsourcing industry in China, and has more than 60 staff at its HQ in Tianjin and eight regional offices around the world.

The firms have already completed a report, Sourcing International Operational Protocols, which reviews the current outsourcing environment and the development of improvement plans, as well as an online self-assessment system.

They will also jointly publish an annual study highlighting outsourcing best practices and services around the world, with the 2011 report focusing on China.

Haitao Qi, CEO of Devott, says that for China to become a prime location for sourcing service providers from around the globe, participants in the country must follow international protocols.
