Lombardo Returns to StrategyOne as Global CEO

In the US, Steve Lombardo has returned to public opinion specialist StrategyOne as Global Chief Executive Officer, following the acquisition of his company Lombardo Consulting Group (LCG) by his new employer. The firm has also appointed Matt Norquist to lead its New York office.

StrategyOne, which is owned by PR network Edelman, offers strategic insights and measurements for PR and Public Affairs professionals, from its offices in five US cities plus London, Paris, Brussels and Abu Dhabi.

Lombardo has more than 20 years' public opinion and market research experience. For the last eight years, he has run Lombardo Consulting Group, handling polling and communications research for both political candidates and corporations, and working on the Bush re-election campaign.

Prior to this, he was President and CEO of StrategyOne for four years, and spent three years as President and CEO of KRC Research. Earlier in his career, Lombardo served as Vice President of research agency Market Strategies.

In his new Washington D.C.-based role, he will report to StrategyOne Chair, Neal Flieger, who describes Lombardo as 'a strategic, visionary and creative thinker', adding: 'Steve led StrategyOne through a string of successes - including the launch of the Edelman Trust Barometer, the marriage of research and insights to the core Edelman offering and the formation of a business that offered both insights and measurement.'

Norquist, who takes up the role of Executive Vice President, worked previously as Partner at Gallup Consulting. He joins with significant international research, management and consulting experience, having opened and managed Gallup's offices in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Dubai and managed Gallup Tokyo. He also served as the Global Director for Gallup University, building the firm's executive MBA programs.

In his new role, Norquist will report to Robert Moran, US Regional President of StrategyOne.
