European Partners Form 'Networks In Health'

medeConnect Healthcare Insight, the MR division of doctors.net.uk, is the leading force in a new alliance, Networks in Health, billed as the largest alliance of professional physician communities in Europe. The firm has also hired Nicola Miles in a senior Business Development role.

To Doctors.net.uk, the UK's largest professional network of doctors, the alliance adds access to more than 600,000 physicians in online communities in France (Egora and La Revue du Praticien), Spain and Portugal (Medcenter), Germany, Austria and Switzerland (coliquio) and Sweden (MedUniverse) - with further partners sought.

medeConnect's services include chat-based qual research and discussion mining, based around doctors.net.uk's community which provides members with a forum to learn, collaborate and exchange professional information.

In addition, medeConnect has announced the appointment of Nicola Miles, as Business Development Director for Field Services, covering the firm's field and tab research projects including the GP Omnibus service, specialty research and online focus groups. She began her career as a Research Assistant at the Royal Marsden Hospital, working closely on cancer research projects including the three-year trials that resulted in the establishment of breast and colorectal screening across the UK. Since then she has spent 25 years in healthcare market research, first at Kantar Operations and Synovate Healthcare, where she was head of the agency team; and most recently at Frost & Sullivan, where as Global Operational Director for Healthcare, she co-ordinated international healthcare studies across Europe, APAC and the Americas.
