Things Looking Up at Cobalt Sky
London-based research technology firm Cobalt Sky has reported a 20% increase in sales to £857k for the first six months of the year, compared with £713k for the same period last year.
Cobalt Sky - originally known as ATP - has provided IT-related services and solutions to the research industry since 1989. In February, the firm acquired MRDC's data management operation in the UK and its data entry centre in Thailand.
The company recently hired Toby Scamell as the latest member of its web survey team, and says Yura Ahmed will join in mid August from Research Now, where she is a Senior Survey Programmer.
MD Raz Khan says the company used some of its reserves during the first half of the year to invest in strategic planning, business development and marketing.
'We ran a market research project recently and discovered that many potential customers seem to think we only handle complex continuous projects, but a large part of our business comes from helping independents, start-ups and SMEs to provide great quality web surveys, DP and reporting,' says Khan. 'One of our challenges now is to communicate this to the industry.'
