Sands Forms Chinese Neuromarketing Partnership
US neuroscience specialist Sands Research Inc (SRI) has partnered with Chinese neuromarketing firm Brain Intelligence Neuro-Consultancy (BI) to provide their services to businesses in China and on a global basis.
Texas-headquartered SRI was established early in 2008, after several years of research into the brain's response to advertising. It is the second collaboration between Dr. Stephen Sands, the firm's Chairman and Chief Science Officer, and company CEO Ron Wright, who previously founded EEG research software and equipment innovator Neuroscan Inc. in the early 1990s.
Beijing-based BI, which was set up by neuroscientist Ruihong Tang (pictured), specializes in using eye tracking technology and brain imaging techniques (both EEG and fMRI). The partners' first joint project will involve assisting a major FMCG brand in the People's Republic of China.
According to Wright: 'Our two companies will work together to provide the latest in market research technology and applications in China and Hong Kong. In turn, SRI will provide the same services to BI's client base of fast-growing Chinese companies which are looking to expand their brands beyond China to the US, Europe and other key markets.'
Tang says the alliance will enable the firms to provide their respective clients with 'unmatched capabilities' in the Asia-Pacific region, the US, Europe, the Middle East and other target markets.
