Confirmit Buys Mobile Survey Specialist Techneos

Online survey and reporting software company Confirmit has acquired mobile survey technology provider Techneos Systems, and will add its solutions to the Horizons reporting tool. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1995, Vancouver-based Techneos provides mobile data collection capabilities to MR firms and end clients in more than 55 countries, and supports more than 200 languages. Its software works with mobile phones, PDAs, netbooks and other mobile devices and can be licensed or bought as a hosted software-as-a-service offering.

Confirmit says the acquisition will help position it for expansion in the 'fast-growing mobile engagement channel'. The newly combined business will operate under the Confirmit brand.

As part of the acquisition, Techneos' CEO and Director, Dave King, joins Confirmit as EVP Confirmit Mobile Solutions. Techneos' 12 staff join c.250 Confirmit employees, and no positions will be made redundant following the acquisition.
