Kantar Health Extends Patient Database to Brazil
Kantar Health has rolled out its international self-reported patient database - the National Health and Wellness Survey (NHWS) - in Brazil.
NHWS is currently conducted annually in the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America, and provides healthcare data including prevalence information for more than 165 conditions.
Data includes information about patients who are diagnosed, undiagnosed yet symptomatic, and untreated; and about patients treated with prescription and/or over-the-counter medications. It also includes disease-specific measures to help healthcare clients size market opportunities and gain insight into specific segments.
The initial Brazilian survey included 12,000 consumers aged 18 or older, with topics such as health status, attitudes, behaviors and outcomes, and including information specific to Brazil's healthcare market.
Dave Pomerantz, SVP of Business Development with Kantar Health, says the Brazilian healthcare market is different from the typical US or EU market, and adds: 'Brazil has the largest economy and population in Latin America, making it an attractive growth opportunity for pharma companies.'
