LMC Acquires JD Power's Auto Forecasting Arm

UK-based market intelligence specialist LMC Automotive has acquired JD Power and Associates' automotive forecasting division. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Oxford-based LMC Automotive is part of economic and business consultancy LMC group, which has further offices in the USA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur and a partner office in Brazil.

The firm's auto division began working with JD Power and Associates on automotive forecasting and market intelligence in the mid-1990s. In addition to data sharing and collaborating at conferences, the firms say that their ongoing alliance will offer continuity of service, as well as new product opportunities.

Pete Kelly, MD of LMC Automotive, says the acquisition will allow LMC Automotive to build on its strong analytical forecasting presence, while JD Power's SVP of Global Automotive Operations John Humphrey says the agreement ensures both companies will continue to complement each other's automotive products and services.
