TNS Buys Remaining Shares in Poland's OBOP
TNS has acquired the remainder of Polish firm Ośrodek Badania Opinii Publicznej sp.z.o.o. (OBOP) from Telewizja Polska S.A. (TVP), Poland's public broadcasting corporation. The research giant already owned 60% of the company.
Warsaw-based OBOP was founded in 1958 and employs 129 people. It specialises in market and opinion research and media measurement, for clients including Unicredit, BAT, MARS, France Telecom and Danone as well as TVP itself. Gross revenues for the year ended 31 December 2010 were PLN 44.9m.
Parent firm WPP, which with associates employs around 6,000 people and has revenues of over $500 million in the CEE region, says the invesment continues its strategy of strengthening its capabilities in measurable marketing disciplines.
