Reed's ICIS Buys Chemical and Energy Specialist

ICIS - Reed Business Information's chemical, energy and fertilizer market intelligence division - has acquired global data products and research services firm Parpinelli TECNON. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Established in 1958, Parpinelli TECNON provides market reports, analysis tools, and consulting services in the areas of petrochemicals, feedstocks, energy, refining, and speciality chemicals.

ICIS says that Parpinelli TECNON's data and analysis services will increase its own capability in supporting clients with their future supply and demand trends, while also complementing the hundreds of market price reports currently supplied by ICIS.

Christopher Flook, MD of ICIS, says the deal significantly increases his firm's capacity to support transactions in global petrochemicals markets. 'Parpinelli TECNON's unique proprietary data will enable the development of powerful new products, while the firm's wealth of knowledge and experience in single client services is a great complement to our China consulting business.'

Parpinelli TECNON CEO John Wyatt says the acquisition will provide an excellent opportunity for his firm to roll out its knowledge and databases to the global ICIS audience.
