SE Asian Appointments Round Out Ipsos Restructure

Following its acquisition of Synovate, Ipsos has promoted Grant Bertoli to the position of CEO for South East Asia (SEA), and confirmed the appointment of Synovate's Singapore MD Miranda Cheung as MD of Ipsos in Singapore and SEA. Senior European and US roles have also been finalised.

Bertoli, who joined Ipsos in the summer as Regional Director of SEA and MD for Singapore, has more than nineteen years' international experience gained while working in Australia, the US and Asia. Most recently at TNS he served as MD of Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia, before which he was MD of the SEA region. Earlier, he was MD of TNS Singapore, and worked at Frank Small & Associates in Asia, before it became part of TNS.

Cheung joined AMI (later acquired by Synovate) in 1994, and was promoted to the position of MD of the Singapore office in 2004. She also began her career with Frank Small & Associates, where she worked for two years. In her new role, Cheung is responsible for key accounts and Ipsos Marketing, and will report to Bertoli.

Lifeng Liu, CEO of Ipsos in Asia Pacific, comments: 'With Grant at the helm, I am confident that he will lead in executing the strategies that will allow the continuous expansion of the combined businesses in SEA, and I am certain that Miranda will be able to drive the growth of one of our key regional hubs in Asia Pacific.'

Elsewhere in the group, Ipsos has restructured its team in China, and named its leaders in Asia Pacific, North-East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, North America, and the Caribbean and Central America.

In the US, Ipsos's Jeff Cail will manage the US business, and Gary Bennewies will be in charge of the Canadian arm, with Odmar Almeida serving as Country Manager for Brazil.

Across Europe, Ipsos's Ralf Ganzenmüeller becomes Country Manager for Germany, with Synovate's Harald Hasselmann serving as his deputy. Ipsos's Yannick Carriou and Nando Pagnoncelli become Country Managers for France and Italy, while Synovate's Enriqué Domingo will lead the firm in Spain, and Ben Page will continue to lead the UK business Ipsos MORI.

Lastly, in Asia, Ipsos's Shunichi Uchida will serve as Country Manager for Japan, while Synovate's Mick Gordon will lead the business in India, and Ipsos's Hugh Amoyal will lead the Australian business.
