Ad Targeting Firm Buys The Social Method
In the US, ad targeting specialist Ayzenberg Group has acquired social media marketing agency The Social Method, to add the latter's proprietary analytics platform to its own social media capabilities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Social Method was co-founded in 2009 by social media PR expert Rebecca Markarian, to develop tools to provide measurement and analysis of social campaigns. Its platform enables practitioners to monitor and manage social network activity in real-time, helping agency clients analyze data that can affect the direction of their product development, messaging and marketing programs.
The firm will now merge its operations with Ayzenberg, with co-founder Markarian (pictured) and her staff relocating to the new parent's offices in Pasadena, California.
Ayzenberg's dedicated social team will now number more than 35 people, and have capabilities in community development and moderation, social content distribution and reputation management for brands.
Chief Strategist and Chief Creative Officer Eric Ayzenberg comments: 'Using social media to drive purchases for our clients is the next big step in social marketing. We now have a team that has been pioneering this methodology for the past several years on our side, and that's a major opportunity for Ayzenberg and the brands we represent.'
