ComRes Grows Senior Team and Office Space
British polling and research specialist ComRes has hired former KRC director Pru Shelton to manage its quant research team. The firm has also made two senior promotions and is increasing the size of its London-based office to accommodate its plans for growth over the next few years.
ComRes, which serves clients in the UK and internationally, is known for its polling work on behalf of The Independent and Independent on Sunday, ITV, and the BBC. The firm was launched in 2003 as CommunicateResearch, and is a founder member of the British Polling Council.
Shelton joins from KRC Research, where for more than five years she specialised in communications research using qual and quant methodologies. Prior to this, she worked as an SRE at Ipsos ASI, focusing on advertising research including pre-testing, post-testing and brand/ad tracking research.
In her new role, she replaces outgoing Research Team Leader Caroline Lawes, who is leaving for a career change.
Separately, ComRes has promoted Katharine Peacock to Director of Research, overseeing the qual and quant and panels teams, and Simon Thwaites to Director of Client Services, adding to his sales and marketing portfolio with a new client services team, for which recruitment is currently under way.
In addition, the firm has increased its office space at Four Millbank, to accommodate its plans for expansion over the next few years.
ComRes Chairman Andrew Hawkins said of the changes: 'Our quantitative research team is one of our flagship assets and Pru's experience and background make her the perfect leader to drive continued growth. We are investing in the infrastructure that we need to build on this success over the coming years, both in terms of our team capacity and with our physical space.'
