Planet Retail Hires Former Mintel Director

UK-based shopper analyst Planet Retail has appointed former Mintel exec Frank Weibelzahl as Sales Director for its European division.

Launched in 1995 and acquired by UK publisher and media group Emap in 2007, Planet Retail delivers global intelligence, analysis and news covering more than 9,000 retail operations across 211 markets. Along with its London office, the firm has operations in Germany, the US, China and Japan.

Weibelzahl joins with a background in consulting, sales and business development and his market intelligence experience spans FMCG manufacturers, retailers, ingredients suppliers, packaging companies, agencies and consultancies.

For the past ten years, he worked at consumer intelligence firm Mintel as Head of Sales Food+Drink for Southern Europe. Prior to this, he was an Account Manager at printer company Lexmark, in Munich.
