smartFOCUS Founder Joins Web Targeting Firm Magiq
Chris Underhill, the founder of customer intelligence software provider smartFOCUS, has joined UK-based web personalisation specialist Magiq as a Non-Executive Director, with a remit to help launch the firm's new lifecycle marketing product LifecycleMAGIQ.
Magiq was founded in 2009 with the introduction of a suite of online products, designed to enable marketers to personalise web site content based on real-time behavioural and activity data as well as visitors' historic profiles. It is a sister company of Speed-trap, which monitors and evaluates web site usage.
Underhill (pictured) joins with more than 20 years' business growth, customer insight and multi-channel marketing knowledge and experience. He founded smartFOCUS in 1998, and last summer, he led the firm's sale to online campaign manager Emailvision, in a deal worth £25.3m.
Prior to this, he held senior roles in IT firms including founding Informed Networks, and serving as General Manager at Computer 2000 and at ICI Fujitsu. He started his career at decision support software company Thorn EMI Computer Software. Currently, Underhill is CEO of restaurant deals firm iVoucher and a Director at investment company VistaCloud Ventures.
In his new role, he will focus on the roll out of LifecycleMAGIQ, which uses behavioural targeting and real-time web personalisation to help marketers collate and exploit individual customer data across multiple channels.
CEO Malcolm Duckett comments: 'Chris brings extensive sector and business development experience which will be crucial as we bring this new solution to market. His input has been vital in shaping the product vision and go to market strategy for this unique solution.'
