Lithium Expands With Office Opening in Paris
US-based social networking solutions firm Lithium Technologies has expanded its EMEA operations by opening an office in Paris, France.
Lithium is headquartered in Emeryville, California, and as well as its new office in Paris, it also has offices in London and Zurich.
The company provides 'social customer relationship management' (SCRM) solutions to enable clients to create and manage their own social customer networks, and its Lithium Insights analytics tool to measure and benchmark the 'health' of online communities.
In 2010, Lithium acquired social media monitoring company Scout Labs, and at the beginning of this year, it raised $53.4m to invest in geographical expansion and new product development.
To lead its new operations, the company has appointed enterprise software specialist Tim Wirth (pictured) as Regional Director, France and Belgium. He previously served as Director of EMEA Channel Sales & Alliances at EMC Corporation, founded telecom app provider Selfswitch, and held senior roles at software firms Versant and Sybase.
Commenting on the expansion, Lithium President and CEO Rob Tarkoff said that the EMEA market is critical for Lithium, and that France plays a 'crucial role' in his firm's continued growth in the region.
