Former Synovate Chief Robert Philpott Joins OnePoint

UK-based mobile data collection specialist OnePoint Global has appointed former Synovate Global CEO Robert Philpott as Global Managing Director, based in the US with a remit to position the company for 'aggressive growth and scale'.

OnePoint Global specializes in offering respondents multiple mobile options to complete surveys by SMS, WAP/Mobile web, mobile application or voice. The firm boasts that its channels work on any handset, in any country and in any language.

Philpott joins after a 15-year career with Synovate, where he latterly served as Global CEO and previously as CEO of the firm's offices in the US, Canada and Latin America. Following Synovate's acquisition by Ipsos, Philpott left the company in November.

He began his research career with Irish Marketing Surveys in Belfast (now Millward Brown Ireland), before taking on the post of MD of MRC Ireland (now Ipsos MORI Ireland), and then moving to Asia Market Intelligence in Malaysia and Hong Kong, prior to the firm being taken over by Synovate.

In this new position, Philpott will work alongside OnePoint Global's CEO Neil Jessop, to focus on increasing the company's global footprint in new and emerging markets.
