Cannon is New efamro President
European MR industry body efamro has elected TNS-Gallup EVP Andrew Cannon as the new President of its Executive Board, for the period 2012 to 2015.
efamro, the European Research Federation, represents more than 600 research businesses, accounting for 25% of the global research industry, or EUR 6 billion.
Cannon, who also represents Finland's research association SMTL, has for the last year served as efamro's Vice President.
In addition to his appointment, the body has elected two new VPs to the Executive Board: Gudbrand Jevne, from Norwegian organisation Virke, for the period 2012-2015, and The UK Market Research Society's Debra Harding, for the period 2012-2014.
Commenting on his election, Cannon states: 'The new Executive Board is committed to expanding the work of efamro in supporting national research associations in Europe and to working with our partners in the new Global Research Business Network, to ensure a level playing field and access to new markets for research businesses.'
Paying tribute to outgoing President, Stig Holmer, Cannon said that he had provided efamro with 'stability and leadership' for the last three years. 'Under his direction, efamro became a stronger, more focussed and more effective organisation, protecting and promoting the business of research in Europe'.
