WPP Snaps Up UX Agency EffectiveUI
Marcoms giant WPP has acquired US-based user experience (UX) agency EffectiveUI. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
WPP says its existing digital capabilities already bring in almost $4.8 billion of the group's overall $16 billion revenues.
Founded in 2005, EffectiveUI offers customer insight and user-centered design and development services through its team of 100 staff, who focus on the design and development of web, desktop and mobile applications that help brands engage with their customers.
The company is headquartered in Denver, Colorado with an additional office in Rochester, New York, and for the year ended 31 December 2011 had unaudited revenues of $20.8m. Following its acquisition, EffectiveUI will operate as an independent company within WPP, with the ability to work in partnership with other WPP companies to provide UX services.
CEO Rebecca Flavin (pictured) comments: 'Joining WPP gives us the ability to work with network partners to leverage our leadership in digital user experience, and further our mission globally to humanize people's interactions with technology.'
