Voxco Acquires Mobile Collection Firm Sypiens
Canadian research software provider Voxco has acquired French technology firm Sypiens, which specializes in developing mobile solutions for the collection of information and opinions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sypiens' range of software applications is used for online surveying on mobiles, panelist studies, and face-to-face surveys with interviewers. These solutions operate both online through a browser, or offline by means of an app installed on the mobile device or tablet. They work on mobile devices running under Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), Blackberry, Android, Symbian and Windows operating systems, reaching 95% of mobile devices currently in use worldwide.
Voxco says the acquisition will enable it to offer 'highly sophisticated' versions of its flagship products Acuity4 Social, Acuity4 Survey and Command Center, the firm's platform for multi-channel and mixed-mode data collection (telephone, face-to-face, web, IVR, mobile).
President and CEO Louis Lessard comments: 'Acquiring Sypiens fits in perfectly with our goal of developing our mobile solutions. We are very pleased to be able to benefit from the Sypiens team of experts, and to welcome them to Voxco.'
Sypiens founder David Lacan adds that the integration of Sypiens with Voxco will enable his firm to benefit from significantly larger development resources.
