Kontagent to Offer Hosted Data Mining
In the US, app developer and analytics platform Kontagent has launched an out-of-the-box hosted data mining option for its kSuite tool, aimed at social media gaming and mobile app developers.
The new product, kSuite DataMine, promises to add 'an entirely new level of flexibility and power' to the company's existing analytics resources by 'providing analysts with full access to their user data for exploration without additional in-house infrastructure or engineering investments.' The firm says the new module completes its suite of tools to offer users an end-to-end solution for app development and monetization. The product will be available as an add-on for a monthly subscription.
Using only basic SQL, analysts will now be able to track financial behaviour such as an individual user's activities prior to buying or not buying games or other virtual goods, and unusual spending patterns which might indicate fraud. They will also be able to identify and study the behaviour of high spending users.
The company is also launching the kSuite Processed Data API, which will allow real-time integration with users' own customized tables, dashboard, and other external analytical processes.
According to Jeff Tseng, Kontagent co-founder and CEO, 'Until now, data mining in our market has been largely unaffordable. You had to build or license expensive proprietary software, buy the servers, load the data, and hire engineers to maintain the database. With the kSuite DataMine solution, we are literally changing the game as well as dramatically reducing costs by providing a turnkey, 100% hosted solution with no customer overhead whatsoever.'
Kontagent last week was a major player in the launch of the Mobile Acquisition Transparency Alliance (MATA); a new standards body for mobile app data collection, processing and reporting.
The company was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in San Francisco with additional offices in Toronto and London.
