Hansa and Ipsos Join for Indian Readership Bid
India's Hansa Research has partnered with Ipsos to make a joint bid for the new Indian Readership Survey (IRS) contract, which will start in 2013.
Back in 2009, the National Readership Studies Council (NRSC) and the Media Research Users Council (MRUC) merged to create a single research currency for the country's print industry. Prior to this, the MRUC had published the Indian Research Survey (IRS) while the National Readership Survey (NRS) has been carried out by the NRSC.
Hansa Research has been conducting the IRS for the last nine years, and this joint bid will combine its experience in readership measurement in India with Ipsos' expertise in global readership surveys across 60 countries.
Commenting on the bid, Mick Gordon, CEO of Ipsos in India, said his firm will add 'significant value' to Hansa's expertise and experience on the ground in India, while Hansa Research MD Ashok Das promises that the partnership will bring a number of new ideas to the IRS.
