Funds for Mobile Data Provider Validas

Mobile intelligence specialist Validas has raised an undisclosed amount of equity funding, for use in expanding its presence in the marketplace.

Validas has developed a patented technology called VERA, which is used to convert cell phone billing data and customers' historic phone usage data into information which enables clients to identify trends, compare patterns and influence behavior. Resulting data is also used to make recommendations to customers regarding the most appropriate plan for their usage levels.

As part of the investment by Huntsman Gay Global Capital, wireless industry veteran and Chairman and CEO of Huntsman Gay company Gee Holdings Ronald Garriques is joining Validas' board as Chairman.
