Cisco to Buy Analysis Software Firm Truviso
Networking giant Cisco has announced its intention to buy data analysis software firm Truviso, as part of its drive to offer clients enhanced real-time data analytics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2006, Truviso provides Visitor Insight & Analytics software covering hundreds of audience segments, and brings together measurement of visitor interactions across web sites, social media, ad servers, video, mobile and online marketing campaigns.
Cisco said in a statement that the buy will further strengthen its own network management platform, Cisco Prime, with the technology to gather and analyze streaming data. Following the acquisition, the Truviso team will be integrated into the Cisco Network Management Technology Group.
The group's VP and General Manager Jamie Lerner (pictured) commented: 'Customers want to be able to tap into and better analyze the enormous volume of data traversing their networks to identify ways to enhance services and generate new revenue opportunities. Embedding Truviso's real time business intelligence into the network will help customers unlock these capabilities at the speed of the network.'
