e-Rewards Buys iPinion
Research Now owner e-Rewards, Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire mobile research specialist iPinion, LLC, which will be rebranded as 'Research Now Mobile'.
IPinion was founded only in 2010 and released its enterprise platform in June 2011. Its wide range of mobile research services include qual and quant, geo-location-based targeting and mobile behavioural research. Its solutions are available as native apps for iOS, Android and Blackberry, and it also offers MiVue, a passive metering tool combining behavioural with survey data.
Research Now will immediately make iPinion's offering available via its current platform in markets including the US, UK, Australia and Canada, and will launch an enhanced version of the platform in the third quarter of 2012.
The iPinion team will now be based at e-Rewards' headquarters in Plano, Texas.
e-Rewards President and CEO Kurt Knapton predicts 'a dramatic increase in demand for research using mobile technology' in the light of the rapid growth of smartphone ownership, and adds: 'We invested a great deal of time selecting the right mobile partner - iPinion has the most extensive product portfolio to support and accelerate our mobile strategy.'
iPinion founder and CEO Pala Kuppusamy says: 'We are thrilled to have the opportunity to combine our mobile capabilities with the vast reach of Research Now's panels and sales teams spanning all major markets. Through this acquisition, e-Rewards will further enhance its position as the leading global digital data collection provider and also establish its leadership position in mobile market research.'
