Epocrates Takes the Oath
Recent formed standards and guidelines partnership The Trust Alliance has been joined by online US physician network Epocrates.
 The not-for-profit organisation was established in November last year by online healthcare fieldwork firms All Global, M3 USA and Medefield, and aims to raise standards, encourage consistency and promote trust in the industry. Eight weeks ago, it announced guidelines for post-field reporting.
Epocrates, which began the year by announcing a partnership with Alliance founder member M3, boasts more than one million healthcare professionals in one of the USA's largest verified, opted-in physician panels. SVP of Sales Adam Budish says of the decision to join: 'We support and employ the principles of The Trust Alliance and look forward to being part of this initiative to help drive better quality research in the healthcare industry. The value of research is in its quality and integrity, which is only as pure as the survey respondents.'
Allan Bowditch, the Alliance's industry liaison, says, 'We welcome Epocrates as part of this important healthcare initiative and encourage others within the industry to join too. Data collection should be considered a 'cornerstone' of market research, and our aim is to enhance the transparency and integrity of online data collection together.'
