NetBase Nabs $18.1m for Global Expansion

Social media intelligence specialist NetBase has secured an $18.1m investment for use in global expansion and enhancement of its services.

NetBase's solutions use a natural language processing (NLP) engine combined with other text analytics and machine learning to process billions of social media posts. In March, the firm launched its ESI Platform, which combines real-time monitoring and measurement with what it describes as instant, interactive insights into the drivers of customer opinions, emotions and behaviors.

The firm's new funding has been led by Thomvest Ventures, Altos Ventures and Tran Ventures. NetBase CEO Peter Caswell (pictured) comments: 'We've seen an increased adoption of our social intelligence platform, and will continue to expand our services and global presence to meet the needs of customers worldwide.'
