Symphony Health Names Bill Nelligan as CEO
US-based healthcare data and analytics provider Symphony Health Solutions has appointed former IMS Health exec Bill Nelligan as Chief Executive Officer.
The company was formed in May by private equity firm Symphony Technology Group through the combination of four healthcare insight companies: AlphaDetail, ImpactRX, Source Healthcare Analytics and TargetRx. The new company provides prescribing and usage information and analytics to the pharmaceutical, biotech and financial industries.
Nelligan (pictured) has long experience of running healthcare information services firms. After a spell at Thomson Healthcare, he worked with IMS Health for more than ten years, holding multiple positions, including SVP Emerging Markets, President of Asia Pacific, and most recently President, US and Americas.
Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, Chairman and CEO of STG, comments: 'Bill knows our industry extremely well, both in terms of where service providers have succeeded in delivering value, but also in understanding that the health insights industry has not kept pace with the changes in this complex and rapidly evolving healthcare ecosystem.'
In addition to Nelligan, the heads of the businesses will continue in their respective roles - Greg Ellis as President and CEO, ImpactRx; Bob Jansen as President Source Commercial & GM and Michelle Woker as President Source Operations.
