SBS Research Head Moves to Seven
In Australia, Emelia Millward has left public broadcaster SBS after eight years to take on the same title - Head of Research and Insights - at Seven.
At SBS, Millward (pictured) led a team providing insights to the content marketing, corporate strategy and sales divisions, as well as subscription TV channels Stvdio and World Movies. Her previous career included five years as Head of Consumer Insight - Marketing at Foxtel, and spells at AC Nielsen in Sydney; CNN; Cartoon Network; and Turner Classic Movies in London.
Seven's Chief Sales and Digital Officer Kurt Burnette said Millward was 'acknowledged as one of the industry's best' and would lead 'a well-credentialed team' as the network builds its television business across its digital broadcast platform. He added: 'our objective is to continue to lead the market in the delivery of client solutions and programme insights.'
The network has indeed been performing well - with the highest ratings in Australia each year since 2007, and winning all 40 out of 40 weeks of the ratings season for total viewers in 2011, according to OzTam, ahead of rivals Nine, Ten, ABC and SBS.
