PinReach Sells for $45k
Pinterest analytics start-up PinReach has been sold through the Flippa online auction site for $45k, following co-founder Chris Fay's decision to accept a new position with Google.
Launched late last year by Fay (pictured) and systems analyst Daniel Schimpfoessl, PinReach now has more than 22,000 registered users, and provides Pinterest influence metrics and analytics to enable clients to monitor trends, understand activity and gauge impact. To date, the service has been free and the firm has generated virtually no revenue.
After accepting the role of Webmaster at Google, Fay decided to sell the PinReach business, in order to avoid a conflict of interest.
The auction on Flippa attracted more than 5,500 views, resulted in 16 bidders, and ended when the un-named buyer - described as a 'big Pinterest fan' from a digital agency - put in a 'Buy It Now' bid of $45k.
