Volvo Launches 'You Inside' Innovation Initiative
Car manufacturer Volvo has launched a global crowdsourcing study via Facebook, through which it hopes to generate new ideas that will help it design more personalized vehicles.
The 'You Inside' initiative works via a Facebook app, through which fans can upload images of the various objects they keep in their car, and share basic information about their lifestyle and vehicles. Using the app, participants can also discover what other people around the world keep in their cars.
Volvo will analyze the resulting data, and then provide participants with a personality profile describing what the inside of their car says about them.
Jesper Andreasson, Senior Manager Social Media at Volvo Cars, comments: ' This Facebook application exemplifies how consumers insights and customer involvement is at the heart of our brand. We constantly want to learn more about our customers in order to make better cars - and hopefully this Facebook experiment will inspire new Volvo innovations.'
The app can be found at: youinside.volvocars.com .
