Crowdsourcer uTest Buys App Analysis Firm Apphance
US crowdsourcing software testing service uTest has acquired Polish mobile app analysis company Apphance from its parent company Polidea, in what is described as a 'seven-figure deal' made up of cash and uTest shares.
uTest offers a marketplace for software testing services, through which a community of more than 60,000 professionals from more than 190 countries test actual devices under real-world conditions.
Apphance's platform enables developers to distribute new versions of their app, obtain bug reports and solicit user feedback.
Through the acquisition, uTest acquires all Apphance's intellectual property, as well as ten engineering staff who will work with uTest's team of 100 to build new functionality into what will be marketed as 'uTest Apphance'.
Doron Reuveni (pictured), CEO of uTest, comments: 'By adding Apphance to our in-the-wild testing services, we've dramatically increased our value to customers and extended our position as an all-in-one testing solution for mobile developers around the world.'
