Camille Nicita Named Gongos CEO
In the US, Camille Nicita has taken the role of CEO of Gongos Research, following the death of the firm's founder John Gongos last month.
Gongos died suddenly at the end of July, after being diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. Prior to his death, Gongos named Nicita as his successor.
A research practitioner for more than twenty years, Nicita (pictured) was appointed COO of Gongos Research in 2011, before which she served as Research Group Leader, overseeing the company's four research practice areas. Earlier, she led the Retail & Services Research Group, and the company's Qualitative Practice. She began her career with Gongos as a research intern at the company's inception in 1991.
'I will never replace my friend and lifelong mentor John Gongos,' Nicita said in a statement. 'He selflessly built a company to thrive in his absence, and it is both a privilege and duty to continue that legacy.'
Nicita also becomes majority owner of Gongos Research, joined by Principal and Partner Christi Walters. The private company is now 100% female-owned.
