IMS and HIC Link for US Patient Experience Data

Healthcare research giant IMS Health is to integrate Health Intelligence Company's (HIC) health plan claims database into its IMS LifeLink portfolio of tools, which provide a view of treatment decisions for more than 210 million patients in the US.

HIC is a health intelligence resource which offers data-driven insights about healthcare trends and best practices.

The firm accesses healthcare claims data from more than 110 million individuals nationwide, and once combined with IMS LifeLink, the service will be known as IMS PharMetrics Plus. Available this month, the service will support a broad range of applications, from epidemiological studies and comparative effectiveness and safety research, to commercial analytics.
